Virtual Training-of-Facilitators
Seminar: Winter 2012
A Professional Development Opportunity with
‘Personal Leadership Seminars’
Begins January 2012 | Online - Worldwide
Would you like to:
- Dive more deeply into your own Personal Leadership (PL) practice, with others whose intention is to do the same?
- Strengthen your confidence and skill when designing and facilitating PL programs (training, coaching, consulting) for your clients, your students, or your colleagues?
- Enjoy the collaborative support of PL facilitators working worldwide, with diverse sectors and in diverse contexts?
- Be free of the constraints of travel and time required by in-person ToF seminars?
- Join the vibrant Facilitator Community of Practice (CoP)?
About the Seminar
The Learning Objectives: By the end of this virtual ToF seminar, you will have advanced your ability to:
- Place Personal Leadership within the theoretical context most relevant to your work (i.e.: leadership development, change and transitions, conflict transformation, intercultural communication, etc.).
- Adapt Personal Leadership to your individualized professional situations.
- Design programs that are appropriate to your specific clients or industry in order to best facilitate learning of the core Personal Leadership methodology.
- Use personal stories to illustrate the principles and practices of Personal Leadership and the Critical Moment Dialogue.
- Assess yourself against the ToF Developmental Benchmarks and create a personalized plan for on-going development as a PL Facilitator.
Within the structure of this virtual ToF, you will also have the unique opportunity to organize, design, and facilitate a two-day introductory Personal Leadership seminar for a group of your choice: your clients or students, your colleagues, the general public, or your family and friends.
Who Should Attend: This program is specifically for first-time ToFers and Associate Facilitators still in training, who are unable because of travel or time to participate in an in-person ToF seminar.
If you would like to maximize your development as a PL facilitator, we encourage you to register for both this virtual ToF and the in-person seminar we are running in Portland in May 2012. Because each forum is able to highlight different developmental possibilities, combining the two will exponentially leverage your confidence and skill.
Logistics
The Schedule: The seminar consists of individual reflection, partner discussion and project work, and virtual meetings. We will send out details about the individual reflection and partner discussion and project work when we receive your registration.
The virtual meetings are scheduled as follows:
- Thursday Jan 26, 2-4pm Pacific
- Thursday Feb 23, 2-4 pm Pacific
- Thursday Mar 22, 2-4 pm Pacific
- Thursday Jun 07, 2-4 pm Pacific
- Thursday Jun 28, 2-4 pm Pacific
Sessions 1-3, plus your individual and partner work, will lay the seminar foundation. Between session 3 and 4 (about 10 weeks) you will organize and design a 2-day seminar which you will then facilitate between sessions 4 and 5. This seminar can be for 1) a client or student group, 2) a group of family and friends, 3) a group of colleagues, or 4) something else of your choosing. The point is for you to have an experience facilitating PL in the context of the virtual ToF. Session 4 will be focused on final preparations for your PL facilitation, and Session 5 will focus on debriefing, key learnings, and next steps.
Fees:
Current members of the PLSeminars Community of Practice (CoP) are afforded a registration discount: $2,000.
Incoming members of the CoP have their 2012 CoP membership dues included in the registration fee: $2,500.

Technology: You will need a broadband/highspeed internet connection. Our use of technology will be quite simple, using Skype and potentially Pirate Pad. Please be sure you have Skype downloaded and active on your computer as you will need it for both your partner work and to access the virtual meetings.
