PL work
Jessica designs and facilitates PL trainings through her work as a nonprofit director and a consultant in K-12 and higher education. She helps educators incorporate PL and mindfulness into their lives and careers so that they can be more assertive, engaged, and effective.
She has led whole staff PL trainings, taught courses using PL material, presented in various regional workshops, and coached others on simple ways to incorporate PL practices into life.
Other work
Jessica is the director for a nonprofit organization that sends volunteer teachers to work in schools in rural Ethiopia and Kenya. As a function of running this program, she has been facilitating teacher professional development opportunities in Ethiopia and Kenya since 2008.
Jessica has also worked as a classroom teacher in Chile, Honduras, Ethiopia, Poland, and the United States. She works as an adjunct professor of education, and teaches classroom management to pre-service teachers in St. Paul. She also consults at schools serving as a coach and mentor for teachers.
Personal background
Jessica lives outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her husband and their two children.
Academic background
Jessica holds a doctorate in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota, and Masters and Bachelors degrees from the University of Notre Dame.
Other interests
Jessica enjoys traveling with her family, reading for pleasure, skiing in the frigid Minnesota weather, and forming new friendships with those she meets through her work and travels.
